Kamala Harris blasts Trump for having ‘no idea what he’s talking about’ after he called himself the ‘father of IVF’
Vice President Kamala Harris has brutally slammed former President Donald Trump, saying “no Donald” people didn’t want Roe v Wade to be overturned, while accusing the Republican presidential candidate of having “no idea what he’s talking about has’.
Harris responded with a scathing response to the ex-president Thursday evening during a campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, her third stop on a tour of the state that day.
During the meeting, Harris played a video with clips of Trump talking about overturning Roe v Wade, claiming that women wanted it overturned. Trump was also seen calling himself the “father of IVF” at a town hall this week.
As the video played, her vocal supporters in the crowd booed. Some attendees even started chanting “lock him up” after the video ended.
Harris said the courts would “take care of that,” but offered her own assessment of his words.
“First of all, no Donald, everyone didn’t want Roe v Wade to be overturned,” she said.
Vice President Kamala Harris speaks during her rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on October 17. During the event, she said it became clear upon seeing him that Donald Trump has no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to women’s health care.
She pointed out that women dying from sepsis because they can’t get care “didn’t want this.” The 59-year-old also said couples who were out of IVF ‘didn’t want this’, before she went after him over his ‘father of IVF’ comment.
Trump made the comment this week at a town hall with an audience of women on Fox News.
‘Oh, I want to talk about IVF. I’m the father of IVF, so I want to hear this question,” Trump said when told he was about to receive a question about in vitro fertilization.
“I mean, it just gets more unbelievable sometimes,” Harris said Thursday.
‘And now the man calls himself the father of IVF? I mean, what does that even mean?’ she laughed.
Harris accused the ex-president of being responsible for putting fertility treatments at risk in the first place when Roe v Wade was overturned in 2022.
“What I think is interesting, unfortunately, is that as you listen to Donald Trump talk, I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that he has no idea what he’s talking about,” the vice president said as the entire room laughed.
“When it comes to women’s health care in America,” she added after a pause.
