Kaley Cuoco took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter Matilda’s first birthday with a piece of candy tribute post on Saturday.
The 38-year-old actress, who shares her daughter with boyfriend Tom Pelphrey, posted a photo reel with a carousel of photos highlighting her favorite moments with her child.
She wrote a heartwarming message to her daughter while pairing the post with Gabby Barrett’s Growin’ Up Raising You:
‘Matilda you are 1! Best year of our lives.. you are a gift from above and have brought the deepest perfect joy to our entire family!
“Dada and I love you more than we could ever explain. I can’t wait to see who you become, but for now, please remain my precious 1-year-old forever.”

Cuoco recently talked about parenting USA today and offered expectant mothers and fathers some advice on parenting advice.
‘My advice is: don’t follow any advice, because every child is different. What my child needs is not what your child needs, and our household is different from yours, and it is survival. Do what you can do,” she said.
Cuoco further stated that she was not above distracting Matilda with screen time, although she understood that other methods of parenting require strict restrictions on access to television and movies.
“If she’s freaking out, and I plop her on the couch to watch a Disney movie, like thank you, you get 10 minutes.” That is amazing. For me that’s great. There might be the next mom who doesn’t want them to watch TV, and that’s fine too,” she said.
The actress also talked about how her daughter had developed an affinity for her phone band.
“She has all the toys in the universe, but all she wants is the leather strap for my phone… I ordered two leather straps on Amazon. I thought, “Here.” So she chews on my leather strap. That’s what she likes to do most, she said.
The birthday post comes just one week after the death of the Cuoco family’s German Shepherd, Blue.
Last Wednesday, Kaley posted heartwarming photos of the “gentle” dog as she wrote a lengthy tribute to him, expressing her sadness as she mourned having to put him to sleep.
“I’ve cried harder over the loss of this beautiful creature than I have in a long time,” she said in a snippet of the caption.
The actress noted that Blue was more of a family member than a pet
Pelphrey praised his partner’s mothering abilities and revealed she’s doing a good job: ‘She’s so good at it’
The post went viral with her famous friends as they took to the comments section to support her and Pelphrey during this difficult time.
Stars like Taylor Lautner, Justin Theroux and Amy Bolandhauser hit the like button to express their condolences as they wrote their condolences under the post.
The actress noted that Blue was more of a family member than a pet as she reminisced about the time she spent with him in her life.
‘We are so lucky to be loved by animals. They are gifts from above and we have been given the honor to cherish them on this earth. To be their voice. To teach our children how to treat them and love them. Blue, it was an honor to be your second favorite human being here on earth,” she finished.
