A woman whose former math teacher posted 14 nude photos of her to a revenge porn website — where users can search for pictures of their neighbors — has only received $10,000 in damages.
Kaitlyn Cannon, 29, took nude photos of herself in 2016 — four years after she graduated — and sent them to her then-boyfriend. Two years later, they surfaced on Anon-IB, a Dutch website full of non-consensual pornography.
The person who distributed her nude photos was her former math teacher Christopher Doyle, who worked at Wall High School in New Jersey. Cannon had no idea how her old friend’s photos ended up on Doyle’s computer.
An Ocean County jury found that the IP address on which Cannon’s photos were posted was linked to Doyle’s address. Cannon sobbed during her testimony last week.
Despite the trauma the Penn State graduate has endured since then, she was only awarded $10,000 in damages for the invasion of her privacy.

After the nudes were posted online in 2018, she received an influx of Facebook requests from men all over her state — and her parents and grandmother received calls from men who spoke explicitly and breathed heavily.
Some images showed her face, as well as her first name.
Cannon was diagnosed with PTSD and prescribed antidepressants when she found out it was her old math teacher sharing her nudes. She still suffers from panic attacks and described how she lost friends because of the ordeal.
The ex-boyfriend to whom Cannon sent the initial footage said he lost his phone, but it’s still unclear how they found their way to Doyle’s address in Jackson, New Jersey.
Arguments were made in court that Doyle may not have been the first person to share Cannon’s photos online. Her lawyer successfully removed them from Anon-IB two weeks after they were posted.
When Cannon went to the police, they filed no criminal charges against Doyle.
According to InsiderCannon said in Ocean County Superior Court, “I was shocked and confused, hoping it wasn’t real.
“I didn’t think there would be anyone in my life who would do this kind of thing.
‘He’s my former teacher. He’s not someone who should see me that way.
“It ruined my whole life in New Jersey because I felt like I couldn’t leave my house. I felt unsafe in my own body, feeling like it wasn’t mine anymore.
“Someone searching these websites for pictures of people they taught, people who are still in school, that really worries me.

“Part of the reason I’m here today; it bothers me very much.’
Cannon’s attorney, Cali P. Madia, told Insider, “Unfortunately, despite this egregious finding, the jury only awarded KC $10,000 in damages.
“We are obviously delighted that the jury saw through the defendant’s story, but we are also disappointed that the reward does not reflect the actual damage the defendant has caused.”
It is unclear if Doyle is still a teacher.
After being charged with violating the state statute for nonconsensual pornography and a law against public disclosure of private facts, he resigned from Wall High School.
Since 2004 he taught children mathematics and tennis there.
Since her ordeal, Cannon has set up a TikTok account to share her experiences and help others go through the rings of revenge porn.
Image board website Anon-IB has been shut down over the years due to its non-consensual content. The site has not strictly moderated its policy of not posting victims’ contact information.
Creeps who visit the website can search for images posted there by town or city, which helps them see people in their area.
