Kaia Gerber throws punches as a cheerleader who joins all-girls fight club in first Bottoms trailer
On Tuesday, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer revealed the first trailer for Bottoms, which stars Kaia Gerber in her first comedic role as a popular Rockbridge Falls High School cheerleader.
In the $14.7 million budget lesbian teen sex comedy — out August 25 in select U.S. theaters — 21-year-old DNA model plays Brittany, the object of desire for an unpopular “ugly, untalented gay student named PJ (Rachel Sennott).
PJ and her virgin friend Josie (Ayo Edebiri) form a self-defense class or “fight club” for girls to seduce Brittany and her popular friend Isabel (Havana Rose Liu) before graduation.
In the surprisingly violent two-minute preview, Brittany rocks raver buns as she punches a heavyset girl at the gym.
Brittany is also punched and knocked to the ground where her head could be seen bleeding.

“I don’t think I’m funny, but somehow I do comedy,” Kaia admitted to Flaunt last September.
“And I’m just waiting – maybe one day people will figure out I’m not funny, but I’ll ride it while I can.”
Gerber continued, “I think I realized you can’t join the joke if you want to be funny. Because I never feel funny, and then I see people laughing and I’m like, “That was serious.” And maybe that’s the key, or maybe that’s my way? Everything is serious to me.’
Sennott co-wrote Bottoms with director Emma Seligman, who she also worked with on the 2020 drama Shiva Baby.
Cocaine Bear director Elizabeth Banks produced the campy film set in New Orleans, which also stars Marshawn Lynch (aka Beast Mode), Nicholas Galitzine, Dagmara Domińczyk, Ruby Cruz and Miles Fowler.
The teaser came out the day after the Malibu-born beauty — who has 9.4 million Instagram followers — shared Bottoms’ movie poster with the caption, “A movie about female empowerment (the hot women) in theaters August 25th!” ‘
Kaia’s celebrity mom Cindy Crawford responded to her post, “Awesome! Congratulations!’
The 57-year-old 1990s supermodel also attempted an acting career with appearances in Fair Game, Frasier, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Simian Line, According to Jim, Wizards of Waverly Place, and BoJack Horseman.

Gerber definitely enjoys dating actors as she has been in a relationship with Oscar nominee Austin Butler since December 2021 after a 13 month romance with Euphoria star Jacob Elordi and a two month fling with Bupkis creator star Peter Davidson.

Later this year, audiences can see Kaia’s recurring role as a manicurist named Mitzi in Abe Sylvia’s 1969 comedy Palm Royale.
The 10-episode Apple TV+ series based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel Mr. & Mrs. 2018 American Pie – also features Mindy Cohn, Allison Janney, Claudia Ferri, Julia Duffy, Carol Burnett, Laura Dern, Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas and Leslie Bibb.
And on May 4, Deadline revealed that Gerber had scored a role as popular social media star Chloe Benson who goes missing in Max Minghella’s psychological sci-fi thriller Shell alongside Elisabeth Moss and Kate Hudson.
