Kai Havertz’s announcement video and first interview at Arsenal are ‘LEAKED’

Kai Havertz’s announcement video and first Arsenal interview is ‘LEAKED’ – just hours after he was pictured in the club’s shirt – as he approaches £65 million move to the Gunners

  • Germany’s Kai Havertz is approaching a £65 million move from Chelsea to Arsenal
  • The 24-year-old playmaker was photographed wearing an Arsenal shirt earlier this week
  • His announcement video and first Arsenal interview have since been leaked

Kai Havertz’s £65 million move to Arsenal appears to be getting closer after his announcement video and first interview with the club were leaked online.

The Chelsea star has been negotiating a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks and was pictured in an Arsenal shirt on Tuesday to provide the clearest indication yet that the deal is going through.

A short announcement video has now leaked to social media, showing Havertz posing for the cameras in the Gunners’ red and white shirt.

The back of the shirt features the number 29 and the Germany international will continue to wear the same number he wore for three years at Chelsea.

A longer interview with Havertz has also appeared online, in which he speaks of his excitement about moving to the north London club.

Havertz tells Arsenal’s media team: “It’s super exciting for me personally. I am so happy to join this great club, this club has such a great history and I hope we can achieve many great things.

He also explained why he took the number 29 again, revealing that he always chose it when playing video games with his brother, describing it as the “perfect number.”

Havertz’s imminent departure from Chelsea to join Arsenal means he will play in the Champions League next season.

That was the highlight of his time at Stamford Bridge, as he scored the winner in the final against Manchester City to give Chelsea their first Champions League win in nine years.

That came at the end of an indifferent first season in England, with Chelsea fans hoping it would kick-start his Premier League career, but the attacking midfielder struggled to live up to expectations during his three-year stint in West London.

He is on the verge of leaving the club after making 139 appearances in all competitions and scoring 32 goals, just nine of them last season as Chelsea finished in 12th place.

However, Mikel Arteta clearly has confidence in Havertz and has pushed to sign him as Arsenal look to challenge for the title again next season.

He appears to have his man, with an official announcement expected in the next few hours.
