Juventus fans pitch STORM during training match to protest potential signing of Romelu Lukaku, chanting ‘We don’t want Lukaku’ as Dusan Vlahovic is cheered

  • Juventus fans chanted ‘we don’t want Lukaku’ and stormed onto the pitch in protest
  • In a game against the club’s reserves, they regularly applauded Dusan Vlahovic
  • The Italian side have eyed Lukaku amid Chelsea’s interest in Vlahovic

Juventus fans stormed the pitch during a training match against Juventus Next Gen chanting ‘we don’t want Lukaku’ in protest at the club’s pursuit of the Belgian striker.

The searingly honest and scathing outcry over Juventus’ interest in Lukaku has been matched by vehement support for current striker Dusan Vlahovic, who Chelsea were keen to sign in a trade-in deal this summer.

Juventus fans consistently applauded Vlahovic throughout the match, which the senior team won 8–0.

It comes after the Curva Sud ultra group unfurled a banner calling on Lukaku to stay away, which read: ‘Lukaku stays in Milan, we already have a second goalkeeper’.

The mocking message refers to the Champions League final, when Lukaku accidentally blocked Roberto Dimarco’s attempt on goal in their 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan.

The Italian club is interested in the Belgian striker and Chelsea would like to fire him

The striker has spent two spells at Juve’s rivals Inter and a reported transfer has not gone down well with Nerazzurri fans

Fans began anti-Lukaku chants within the first minute of the match, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chelsea rejected a £26 million bid from Inter for the rowdy 30-year-old earlier this summer, and Todd Boehly is seeking around £40 million.

He was loaned out to the Milan giants last year, but the Blues are adamant he will not be loaned out again, even if they don’t want him themselves.

Lukaku is reportedly open to Juventus and Inter pulled out of the bid to sign him after learning talks were underway between Chelsea and the Old Lady.

He was reportedly unhappy that the Nerazzuri had left him out of the starting line-up for the Champions League final and so rejected this summer after scoring 14 goals in 37 appearances for them.

Chelsea were prepared to submit a £38.5 million-plus Lukaku bid for Juventus’ Vlahovic, but manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as “unconvinced” by the Serbian frontman.

A transfer from Vlahovic, who scored 14 goals in 42 games last season, will not be approved without Pochettino’s permission.

The 23-year-old is said to prefer staying at Juventus, but could still leave Turin with interest from both Chelsea and PSG.

If he leaves, Juventus may once again feel compelled to step up their approach to Lukaku, but their fans have amazingly made their opposition clear.

How often do you see a literal pitch invasion to protest a club signing a player?
