Juventus ‘could offer Jordan Henderson an escape route from Saudi Arabia’ with loan deal as ex-Liverpool midfielder considers quitting £700,000-a-week Al-Ettifaq contract to return to Europe

Juventus could reportedly offer Jordan Henderson a route out of Saudi Arabia, amid suggestions the former Liverpool midfielder is unhappy there.

The Italian club is looking for reinforcement in that area and Al-Ettifaq and the English player Henderson (33) are apparently an option that is being looked at.

According to the Italian journalist Gianluca di MarzioJuventus are only willing to take Henderson on loan until the end of the season. The player is reportedly looking for an 18-month contract.

Newspaper Corriere dello Sport also led with the story in the Saturday edition.

Negotiations are continuing and a compromise could still be found on a player who is also linked to Ajax.

Mail Sport reported last week that Henderson could be ready to quit his lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia and return to European football after just six months there.

According to reports, Henderson earns between £500,000 and £700,000 a week in the Middle East but has become disenchanted with playing there.

His former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard is his coach at Al-Ettifaq, who currently sit eighth in the Pro League standings, a whopping 28 points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Henderson played as Al-Ettifaq were held to a 1–1 draw at home by Al-Hazm in their last match on 28 December.
