Juventus have sensationally asked eight first-team players, including Federico Chiesa and Wojciech Szczesny, to leave the club, sources say.
New head coach Thiago Motta is conducting a ruthless clean-up of his squad as he attempts to renew a team that has struggled both on and off the pitch in recent seasons.
Juventus have failed to win the Serie A title in the past four seasons, having previously won the Italian top flight nine times in a row. In addition, Massimiliano Allegri was replaced by Motta at the beginning of the summer.
Chiesa is one of eight players Juventus are keen to sell during the open transfer window as the club looks to raise funds to sign new players, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper Szczesny is being replaced by a new goalkeeper and joins two other former Premier League players who look set to leave Turin.

Former Leeds midfielder Weston McKennie and former Liverpool loanee Arthur Melo have also been told to look for new teams.
Juventus also want to secure permanent departures for Arkadiusz Milik, Mattia De Sciglio, Daniele Rugani, Arthur Melo, Filip Kostic and Hans Nicolussi-Caviglia.
“They have withdrawn from the project and have to find a new club,” said Motta.

“We are convinced that this is the best possible decision,” he added, as Juventus opens up to doing business with other clubs.
Chiesa is probably the most notable player on the list of players who have been said to have finished their careers with the Old Lady, as he was a figurehead for the team when he first broke through in Italian football.
The 26-year-old’s arrival was welcomed by Juventus fans when he joined from Fiorentina four years ago, but the club have endured a frustrating period so far, largely marked by injuries.
Juventus are determined to sell him this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer when his contract expires next year.
