Juul vape users are shocked after receiving payouts of more than $9,000 from a class action lawsuit.
In 2022, Juul agreed to pay more than $1 billion to settle thousands of lawsuits claiming it fueled America’s youth vaping epidemic.
The e-cigarette maker was accused of getting a generation of Americans hooked on nicotine through its fruity and candy-flavored e-cigarettes.
After the lawsuits, Juul agreed to pay $1.2 billion to settle 5,000 claims from 10,000 plaintiffs.
Now smokers have finally received their payouts and are taking to social media to show off the large sums deposited into their bank accounts.

People have flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, and Reddit with screenshots of their payments.
One user revealed that he received a whopping $9,217.
Alongside a photo of his Venmo payment, he said, “Shout out to the Indian guy who sold me and my friends Juuls in high school.”
Another smoker revealed they got $2,304, while someone else said they got $7,680.
Meanwhile, people on Reddit shared how much they received from the lawsuit.
One person said: ‘I was given $3,000 and didn’t provide any receipts. I forgot I had filed a claim because I didn’t think about it much and was shocked. It’s so confusing why some people who provided concrete evidence for thousands of dollars in charges are getting significantly less than what I got as a plaintiff who provided no evidence.”
Another user added: ‘I got $667 today.’

A spokesperson for Juul Labs told DailyMail.com: Payment of the settlement funds will be managed by the Settlement Trust, not directly by Juul Labs.
“We are pleased to have resolved the vast majority of the company’s past legal issues and are focused on advancing our mission, including our efforts to combat the use of our products by minors, which according to the most recent government has been reduced by 98% since 2019. facts.
In 2022, a company spokesperson said: ‘These settlements represent an important step toward strengthening Juul Labs’ business and securing the company’s path forward to fulfill its mission of moving adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes while combating underage use.”
The mountain of lawsuits against Juul have been filed by school districts, parents of Juul users, city governments and Native American tribes, all of whom have been affected by what they say is predatory marketing to teens.
In October 2018, Juul became extremely popular, dominating more than 70 percent of the US e-cigarette market.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated in October that nearly 2.6 million middle school and high school students, or 14 percent of all U.S. children between sixth and twelfth grades, currently use e-cigarettes.
