There was early drama in Wednesday night’s Mavs-Suns game as Grant Williams stepped over Kevin Durant while Jusuf Nurkic stepped in to push the Dallas forward.
The moment came early in the first quarter after Williams fouled Durant and knocked him to the ground, with Nurkic pushing Williams aggressively as he stood over his teammate.
Williams then punched Nurkic back, with Durant also visibly angry and both teams having to be separated.
Durant pointed a finger in Williams’ direction as the two teams clashed, with his opponent returning the favor.
All three players received technical fouls during the game.

The fight came after Williams also fouled Durant on the previous possession as he clumsily tackled the Suns star.
The Mavs led the Suns 34-25 at the end of the first quarter.
Durant was included along with LeBron James, Joel Embiid and Steph Curry in the U.S. basketball player pool for the Paris Olympics, which was announced Tuesday.
The 35-year-old is averaging 29.6 points this season and Phoenix was 7-3 in its last 10 games entering Wednesday night.
