Justified returns July 18 but WHAT is going on with Raylan’s hat?

There are two things to remember Justified, FX’s critically acclaimed drama about a gunfighter who is banished to his hometown in Kentucky after that shooting got him in trouble. The first is Raylan Givens, Timothy Olyphant’s trigger-happy U.S. Marshall, saying “I was right” a lot of less than you may remember. The other is that he really, really loves his hat.

So what the hell has he done it in the eight years he’s been gone?

That’s actually the biggest question in the first teaser for it Rightly so: City Primevalthe miniseries revival of one of the best shows of the 2010s. Like the original series, City ancient will be based on the work of Elmore Leonard and Givens moving from Harlan, Kentucky to Detroit, Michigan, making him a bit of a fish out of water.

The promo trailer doesn’t convey much other than Givens’ urban discomfort, And the fact that his hat is different. It has a studded band now? Absolutely not.

Note Raylan’s old hat: simple, classic, clean.

And look at this ostentatious scum, rescued from a bus that should have, quite frankly, put him out of his misery:

They better have a good explanation for that when Rightly so: City Primeval premiered on July 18.
