Just Stop Oil’s ‘Beyond F***ed Banquet’ was derailed today by counter-demonstrators who set off alarms suspended in balloons.
The divisive climate activism group held an event in London to “step back, mourn what will die and disappear, but also celebrate what we have achieved,” with campaign updates, stories from people “in resistance,” plant-based foods and music.
But the banquet was thrown off course when ‘Just Stop P***ing Everyone Off’ protesters crashed the event with deafening ‘personal security alarms’.
The group – which clashed with JSO this week as they prepared to march on London – turned out to be led by British YouTubers Josh Pierters and Archie Manners.
Manners told MailOnline tonight: “Climate change is the biggest crisis facing our generation, but if we want to solve it, we have to work together.
“JSO’s tactics over the past 18 months have not worked; indeed people across the country are being deterred from this vital cause by their protest.
‘The people at JSO are well-intentioned; but they go about it the wrong way. Stopping mothers from going to hospital or ruining people’s snooker day will do nothing to tackle climate change.’
The group would be led by British YouTubers Josh Pierters and Archie Manners

Just Stop Oil took to Twitter tonight to applaud the group’s ingenuity, sharing a video of members trying to bring down the balloons.
Brushing off the disturbance, they wrote, “Props to @j_s_p_p_o for their impeccable action design.
“We invited them to dinner with us, but the alarms they sounded at our banquet were the perfect metaphor for the urgency of the climate crisis.”
‘Just Stop P***ing Everyone Off’ told MailOnline that JSO mistakenly tagged another account as ‘Just Stop P***ing People Off’.
Earlier this week, on July 20, Just Stop Oil members were apparently surrounded and “harassed” by counter-demonstrators wearing “Just Stop P***ing Everyone Off” shirts.
The counter-demonstrators were seen forming a human chain in an attempt to foil a demonstration.
But they “spread” after activists “explained their reasons for ending new oil and gas,” JSO explained on their social media.
MailOnline contacted Just Stop Oil for comment.
Just Stop Oil describes itself as “a coalition of groups working together to ensure that the government is committed to halting new fossil fuel licensing and production.”
Founded in February 2022, the group has proven divisive by using disruptive tactics to draw attention to the issues.
While favoring non-violent action, the group uses vandalism and traffic jams to call for change.
In recent months, a number of top sporting events have also been disrupted by Just Stop Oil protests.
Four activists in their 60s invaded the championship courts earlier this month after disturbances at the Grand National, Epsom Derby and the Ashes.

Roadblocks have resulted in clashes with the public. Earlier this week, an activist was beaten by an angry motorist after he blocked a road in South Kensington.
Daniel Knorr, 21, an Oxford student, blocked a road in South Kensington ‘causing a pregnant woman to crash her car’.
A man with the woman climbed out of the crashed car and angrily confronted Knorr, seen on filming knocking him to the ground.
Just Stop Oil said: ‘Daniel was attacked during a march this morning and remained non-violent throughout. Disruption is difficult, but necessary.’
