Jurrien Timber was forced off 50 minutes into his Premier League debut for Arsenal after pulling away from the ball with a problem in his right leg.

The Dutch defender came over from Ajax for £ 40.5 million this summer, but had to be replaced by Takehiro Tomiyasu during the home game against Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal were leading the game 2–0 at the time, with first-half goals from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka giving the hosts the lead at the Emirates after kick-off was delayed by 30 minutes due to turnstile problems.

Timber continued to cringe after a poor challenge on Forest’s Brennan Johnson at the end of the first half when he was shown a yellow card.

He then received treatment and was briefly reintroduced before half time. While out for the second half, he only lasted a few minutes before retiring with the injury.

The defender made his Premier League debut for Arsenal following his summer transfer

Timber was Mikel Arteta’s second summer signing when he was brought into the team in July. Other incoming stars to the Emirates this year include Declan Rice from West Ham and Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
