Aussie seriously injured in freak skydiving accident
A man in his 40s has suffered serious injuries in a horrific skydiving accident.
The incident took place on Thursday morning near Jurien Bay in Washington, about 220km north of Perth.
The skydiver was taken to Jurien Bay Health Center and then flown to Royal Perth Hospital.
A St John WA spokeswoman told NewsWire the RAC rescue helicopter landed in Perth at around 2pm.
“His injuries were serious but not life-threatening,” she said.
St John WA received the emergency call at around 10.30am, she added.
An employee of the skydive operator, Skydive Jurien Bay, told the Western Australian newspaper that the man was in “good spirits” after the accident.
Skydiving is an important part of Jurien Bay’s economy.
