Jurien Bay: Bizarre mystery unfolds as the body is discovered in a burnt-out car, while shortly afterwards another vehicle floats in the ocean and a naked man ‘acts erratically’ on a boat in need of rescue
Human remains have been found in a burnt-out car more than 200km north of Perth as WA Police try to find out if it is linked to a bizarre ocean rescue that took place hours later.
The vehicle was found on fire along the Indian Ocean near the coastal town of Jurien Bay at around 12.30pm on Tuesday.
The road was closed southbound as police investigated, and officers later confirmed a body had been found in the vehicle.

Investigators are now trying to determine if the burned car is in any way related to a separate car found 16 miles away in the ocean.
Later in the morning, another car was found submerged in the ocean at Cervantes Jetty, about 25km south of Jurien Bay.
A naked man was seen in a nearby boat behaving erratically before jumping into the water and having to be rescued by a nearby fishing vessel.
He was taken into custody and given medical attention while the submerged car was recovered.
According to the police, nothing suspicious was found in the car.
“Investigations continue in an effort to establish all circumstances surrounding both incidents and whether they are related,” a WA Police spokesperson said.
The police have asked anyone who has a dashcam image of Dr. between 9 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. from the Indian Ocean, urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The investigation is ongoing, but police have taken into custody a man who was behaving erratically in a boat near the submerged car.
