Jurassic Park fans go wild as new film gets 2025 release date – ‘I hope they never stop making these!’
Jurassic Park fans have gone wild after Universal Pictures announced that the franchise would be rebooted for a new movie in 2025.
The production studio announced on Tuesday that it is entering the next Jurassic era, with a new Jurassic World reboot set for July 2 next year.
Devoted fans were ecstatic at the news of a new dinosaur episode, with some exclaiming: ‘OMG the other. I hope they never stop making these!’
While no story details have been revealed, the new project will focus on “a new Jurassic era” and will not feature any actors from the previous six films.
It follows the latest film in the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion, which was released in 2022 and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

Jurassic fans took to the social media site to express their excitement over the promise of a new film.
‘Is this real??!!!?’ someone asked. ‘OMG! Can we make the scene another scene of the doghouse dangling from the T-rex’s mouth?’
While another excited fan said: ‘WHAT’S THE TITLE??? OH MY GODDDDD’ and a third shouted ‘YAY MORE JURASSIC PARK!’
Another Jurassic lover said: ‘New movie! New direction…same leadership…love the franchise and will continue to support #dinosaurs. I can not wait.’
But some of the fandom was skeptical about the new installment and longed for it to leave the ‘World’ series and return to the original Jurassic Park days.
“Not another movie,” one fan pleaded. ‘The world series is terrible, especially the dominance. Nothing beats the original.
‘But if you make a film like the original, with a smaller budget and without too much use of CGI, then I might be interested. Bring in a new cast and return to Jurassic Park, not the world.”

While another disgruntled fan said: ‘Each movie in the series just keeps getting worse. Dominion was truly awful, and in my eyes Malcolm was the *only* saving grace.
“How can a dinosaur movie be just a front for grasshoppers and star man action scenes?”
The new Jurassic project was first reported two weeks ago, with David Leitch (Atomic Blonde) set to direct from a script by David Koepp, the writer of Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park, released in 1993.
Universal Pictures had previously staked its claim on that date for an “event film” that will now be the 2025 project, according to Deadline.
For the currently untitled film, no other films will be released on that date, even though it will be released nine days before Warner Bros.’ Superman: Legacy.
Original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer on the project.
Kennedy Marshall’s Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will also produce alongside Leitch and Kelly McCormick through their company 87North.

The original Jurassic Park was adapted by Koepp from Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel of the same name and became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.
It earned £283 million at the domestic box office and £775 million worldwide, dethroning ET as the highest-grossing film of all time.
However, that record only lasted for four years, when Titanic became the first film to gross over $1 billion worldwide, a feat that Jurassic Park almost achieved.
The huge success spawned a sequel, 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, which still did well but failed to recapture the success of the original.
It took £181 million domestically and £490 million worldwide, although the third installment, 2001’s Jurassic Park III, did not see Steven Spielberg return as director, with Joe Johnston taking over and making just £143 million domestically and £ 304 million worldwide.
The franchise lay dormant for fourteen years before director Colin Trevorrow revived it with 2015’s Jurassic World, returning the franchise to its previous box office heights.

It cost a whopping £517 million domestically and £1.3 billion worldwide, spawning a brand new trilogy.
2018’s Jurassic World stumbled a bit, but still grossed huge numbers with £330m domestically and £1bn worldwide.
The final installment – 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion – took in around half of Jurassic World domestically, but still just over £790m worldwide.
It is currently unclear when production or casting will begin on this new Jurassic reboot project.
