Nicola Pease, head of Jupiter Fund Management, quits after just three years for ‘personal reasons’

Nichola Pease steps down as head of Jupiter Fund Management after just three years for “personal reasons”.

Her sudden departure, two years after her 30-year marriage to hedge fund manager Crispin Odey ended, is likely to raise questions among shareholders at the asset manager’s annual general meeting on May 10.

Pease, 62, joined in 2020 and will be replaced by David Cruickshank as non-executive chairman and chairman of the nomination committee.

Karl Sternberg will become acting chairman of the audit and risk committee, while senior independent director Roger Yates will also join the audit and risk committee.

Pease helped the company through the pandemic and oversaw the appointment of Matthew Beesley as CEO last summer after Edward Bonham Carter left.

Former head of multi-asset Talib Sheikh and investment manager Joseph Chapman also left in a restructuring.

Pease was married to Odey for 30 years before they divorced in 2021. The pair were dubbed the town’s “Posh and Becks.”
