A woman in the Bronx who tried to get money from an ATM was shocked to see it was full of homeless people who appeared to be using drugs.

She walked to the Bank of America branch in Fordham and saw three men collapsed in front of the machines.

The woman filmed the incident and shared it on TikTok, where it was viewed more than 30,000 times.

Images show the men unresponsive, lying on the ground and possibly using drugs.

While a fourth commented: ‘They think that about people too [are] Are you actually going to go in and take money if they’re in there?’

Drug overdose deaths in New York increased during the pandemic, largely due to illicit fentanyl and similar synthetic opioids.

In 2021, 30 New Yorkers per 100,000 died from a drug overdose. Opioid overdose death rates in New York were higher than national rates in both 2020 and 2021.
