Julie Bishop has revealed how she supported Pip Edwards after she found herself in the middle of a wild row between her ex Michael Clarke and his new girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in Noosa.
The former foreign minister, 67, said this this week Stellar magazineshe immediately texted Pip after making headlines last year when Yarbrough accused Clarke of sleeping with her.
“I think I was abroad and I sent a text saying, ‘I’m here for you, honey.’ But I knew she was okay. I knew she would be strong and able to handle it,” Bishop said.
“But the level of public scrutiny, I mean, the biggest story in Australia? Please…’
“Honestly, just put it in context, folks. That people’s personal lives can make headlines and even end up in the news. After 25 years of being in the public eye as a politician and beyond, I am still amazed at what is considered news.”

Bishop looked incredibly chic in a yellow suit as she posed alongside the PE Nation designer on the cover of the magazine.
The politician flaunted her slim figure in the designer ensemble and white shirt as she hugged her friend.
Meanwhile, Edwards showed off her pins in a little yellow skirt, matching blazer and black crop top.
The pair changed into new ensembles as they leaned against a wall for another photo and looked into the camera.
The former Foreign Secretary, 67, told this week’s Stellar magazine that she immediately texted Pip after finding herself in the middle of a wild row between her ex Michael Clarke and his new girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in Noosa.
Edwards found herself in a standoff in December 2022 between her ex Clarke, his girlfriend Yarbrough, as well as Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine.
Extraordinary footage has emerged of a heated argument between the couple while on holiday in Noosa, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
In the video, which was filmed by an onlooker on January 10 and sold to The Daily Telegraph for a reported $10,000, Yarbrough accused the former Test captain of cheating on her with his former flame Edwards on December 17.
Others in the group, including Stefanovic, his wife Jasmine – Yarbrough’s older sister – and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, tried to defuse the row.
