On Monday, the 36-year-old Dancing With the Stars host spoke out about criticism of her small size, as she assured her more than 5.1 million followers that she is doing better than ever.
“I don’t normally respond to comments like this, but I’m going to say a few things about this video,” she wrote beneath footage of herself rocking a bikini in a sauna. ‘My body has never been healthier.’
She continued, “I was riddled with inflammation in my early twenties and had a marker for an autoimmune disease that I addressed and committed to over a year and a half ago. I have frozen my eggs in recent years, which also shifts the body fluctuation.’

In response to snide comments about her silly behavior in the video, which saw her jumping on a trampoline, the professional dancer explained that her “playful side” is “the most authentic version” of herself.
“I saw somewhere that when children are the most playful and can be the strangest versions of themselves, it means they can do it the safest,” she wrote. ‘My playful, crazy side reflects how safe I feel in my own skin and with the people around me. Anyone close to me knows that this side of me means I am the freest in judging myself and others.’
Despite facing criticism or judgement, Hough emphasized that she will continue to feel “safe in herself” “regardless of the flow of your comments” and “continue to have fun with life, which can be very hard and challenging.” .
“Rather than taking everything so seriously, why not be playful and laugh and enjoy the journey?” she asked.
