Sacked Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann was only informed of his shock departure last night during a ski holiday in Austria, according to reports in Germany.
The Bundesliga giants are set to name Thomas Tuchel to succeed Nagelsmann at the Allianz Arena, with the former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain manager set to start work on Monday.
Bayern Munich, who have won the last 10 Bundesliga titles in a row, sit second in the league table, one point behind rivals Borussia Dortmund.
With Bayern still in the title and Champions League race, having comprehensively defeated PSG 3-0 on aggregate to progress to the quarter-finals, the news of Nagelsmann’s departure will have been a huge shock, for the fans and for the coach himself.
