Julia Fox says short-lived romance with Kanye West impacted her acting career ‘not in a good way’

Julia Fox says her brief romance with Kanye West deteriorated her acting career.

The 32-year-old actress, speaking on the High Low with EmRata podcast with Emily Ratajkowski Monday, said she realized things had changed in the wake of the high-profile romance with West, 45, earlier this year.

“After the big relationship, I definitely noticed a shift in acting, not in a good way,” said Fox, who attended Monday’s CFDA Fashion Awards. ‘I don’t get as many offers as before, strangely enough. There are a lot of weird downsides to reaching that level of fame.”

The Milan, Italy-born beauty said she feels like some of the people in the entertainment industry think she’s a “liability” and “tabloids type of person.”

Fox, who appeared in 2019’s Uncut Gems alongside Adam Sandler, said she wasn’t deterred by temporary setbacks and just had to “trust the process.”

Fox, who appeared in last year’s Steven Soderbergh drama No Sudden Move, added: “It’s fine, I’m so busy. I think things come to you at the right time, so that’s why I really don’t worry. I really don’t care.’

Fox and West were romantically linked earlier this year as they were initially spotted together on a New Year’s Eve outing in Miami.

Fox then revealed her relationship with West in a Interview magazine piece where she said they had an “instant connection.”

An insider from the west told e! News in January on West and Fox’s relationship: “He really loved her energy and passionate personality and knew she would be the perfect person to bounce creative ideas off of.

“He thinks she has refreshing energy and they’re having a lot of fun. Kanye is always up to something creative and Julia is definitely his newest muse.”

The couple dated until mid-February, with Fox telling the cut February 14 that things were “much more amplified” for her during her relationship with the rapper.

“I’ve never functioned at Ye’s level,” she said. “I never wanted to be super famous. It’s an end of life for some celebrities. They become withdrawn and paranoid and hide. I don’t refuse to live authentically.’

The mum-of-one – she shares son Valentino, 22 months, with ex-husband Peter Artemiev – shared more about the short-lived romance with West in a chat with ES magazine in September, saying she “definitely would have lasted and been there longer” before having her son.

She said of West: “It seems like he had a lot to work on, and I just don’t have the time or energy for it. I don’t have the bandwidth or emotional capacity for it. I’m proud of that.’
