Julia Fox reveals she was ‘permanently banned’ from Bloomingdale’s after shoplifting as a teen

Julia Fox was ‘permanently banned’ from a Bloomingdale’s store after being caught stealing as a teenager.

The Uncut Gems actress – who had a brief fling with rapper Kanye West, 46, in 2022 following his split from 42-year-old Skims founder Kim Kardashian – has revealed she had a ‘full circle moment’ when she did a celebratory campaign at the department store, eight years after she was caught shoplifting in 2005 at the age of 15.

She said ET Canada“I’ve had so many circular moments like that. I actually got caught shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s and I was 15 and I was permanently banned from the store.

“And then, eight years later, I kind of liked a little holiday campaign for them.”

Fox spoke from the red carpet premiere of her latest project Something You Said Last Night.

The No Sudden Move actress joined the film as an executive producer earlier this year, even though the film has already screened at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.

The Canadian-Swiss film follows a transgender woman who vacations with her family as she struggles to assert her independence.

Julia’s holiday campaign seems to have been in the earliest days of her fame, as her breakout role as Adam Sandler’s love interest in the critically acclaimed comedy thriller Uncut Gems was still six years in the future.

The 33-year-old model recalled being a nervous wreck when she walked into the same Bloomingdale’s store she was banned from years earlier during the 2013 holiday campaign.

She recalled, “And I remember when I came up, when I came in in the morning, they asked for my ID and I was like, ‘Oh my God, are they going to like it, look into the system and see that I’ ‘Whatever, they didn’t let me in,’ she said, clearly relieved.

“But it’s like, you know, I’m still kind of living with that trauma. I still hold my breath when I pass police officers and look straight ahead,” she admitted

Julia – who has claimed to be on the autism spectrum and to have obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) in the past – says she still suffers ‘trauma’ and ‘scars’ from her ‘past’ wears. ‘

The fashion designer added: “I have so much trauma from being arrested and everything. But, you know, it’s like you still carry those scars from your past. Like, you know, I’m, I guess, a different girl now, but I still feel like the same little ragged, 13-year-old.”

Before starting her career, Julia worked in a shoe store, an ice cream parlor, a pastry shop and had a short side job as a dominatrix for six months while she was a student at City-As-School High School in Manhattan.

Fox made a big impression on July 7 at the Toronto premiere of Something You Said Last Night with her feisty ensemble.

She was dressed in a striking black cut-out dress with a top that had cutouts across her chest and dramatic black nipple tassels.

The look also showed off her washboard abs, sporting frills from a sheer skirt tied at the top with thin strands, while elevating her stature with black open-toed platform shoes.
