Judge makes surprise move in case of ‘killer’ OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney

A Miami-Dade judge has surprisingly decided to exclude a key piece of evidence in the case of OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney. This was much to the dismay of the prosecutors.

Courtney has been charged with second-degree murder after fatally stabbing her crypto trader boyfriend Christian Obumseli in their luxury Miami apartment in April 2022.

Parents Kim and Deborah Clenney were also taken into custody for burglary and stealing the victim’s computer, but were later released.

State attorneys were able to access Kim’s iCloud account, where they found messages showing the family working with attorneys to guess passwords to access the laptop.

But today, Judge Laura Cruz ruled in a two-paragraph opinion that prosecutors violated attorney-client privilege by gaining access to the Clenney family’s private conversations with their own attorneys.

‘The communications intended by the parties are protected by the attorney-client privilege and/or the work product privilege.

“This privilege was violated, albeit perhaps unknowingly, when the notice in this case was read by prosecutors.

“The appropriate remedy for this breach of privilege is to exclude from evidence the communications in this case,” Judge Cruz told the court.

But while she ruled in favor of the defendants on this particular point, Judge Cruz did not dismiss the case and said she would elaborate on her decision in detail at the upcoming hearing on Friday.

Jude Faccidomo, who represents the Clenneys, said after the verdict: “Today Judge Cruz granted our motion to exclude evidence. What that means, the prosecutor’s office violated attorney-client privilege and that was illegal.

It is a fundamental privacy principle that the state should never have violated. They entered the defense camp.

‘All that tarnishes their persecution. They targeted our clients Kim and Deborah for no reason.’

It remains unclear whether the state will now drop charges against the suspect and her parents for illegal access to Obumseli’s computer.

Previously, Kim and Deborah had discussed their infamous daughter’s case in an interview with TMZ’s Harvey Levin, saying that if she had not violently protected herself, she would have ultimately been the victim.

“Even if this hadn’t happened, we would be talking about her funeral. It definitely would have been the other way around,” Deborah said, referring to the day her daughter stabbed her boyfriend to death.

Prosecutors have said this was the culmination of a “stormy and combative relationship” that began in November 2020.

Courtney has admitted to killing Obumseli, but said she acted in self-defense. Her lawyer, Frank Prieto, claims Obumseli was regularly abusive.

The model previously told investigators that Obumseli pushed her and threw her to the ground, prompting her to grab a knife and throw it at Obumseli from about 10 feet away.

But the medical examiner who performed Obumseli’s autopsy said his wound could not have been caused by a knife thrown from that distance.

In April 2024, bodycam footage emerged showing Courtney covered in blood and pleading with emergency services to save him shortly after the incident.

The new video showed the moment authorities entered the apartment and found the OnlyFans model cradling Obumseli and shouting, “baby, baby, baby, wake up” and “no, no, no,” as police told her to go away.

Covered from head to toe in blood, wearing soaked sweatpants, she said, “I can’t let this happen, this wasn’t me,” as police pulled her hands behind her back and handcuffed her.

Talking to police as paramedics tried to save Obumseli, she told them, “I’m terrified of him” and “I was so scared.”

“I’m covered in blood because I tried to save him… I need him, he was my other half,” said Courtney.

In addition, a video of Courtney hitting her boyfriend weeks before he died was made public earlier this year.

The footage, filmed by another person in the room, shows Clenney blaming Obumseli for “hindering her progress” and sobriety.

She complains that he “flirts” with other women, that he doesn’t fill in the social media content for her and that she is “tired of him.”

He is heard arguing and telling her he is ‘done’.

The couple had moved to Miami in early 2022 and staff and residents of the One Paraiso building, where they lived, reported multiple domestic violence complaints about the couple and even moved to evict them.
