Jude Bellingham hilariously revealed his mother’s long-standing crush on Jose Mourinho after asking the ex-Manchester United and Chelsea manager to pose for a photo with her following Real Madrid’s Champions League success.

The 20-year-old capped a brilliant debut season in the Spanish capital as his side beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr secured a record-extending 15th European Cup win for Los Blancos following their domestic success this season.

During the celebrations, Bellingham placed the winner’s medal around his mother Denise’s neck before making his way to meet Mourinho, who was doing broadcasting duties for TNT Sports.

The Englishman then asked the Portuguese to pose for a photo with his mother before revealing that she has liked the enigmatic manager for some time.

“Sorry about that, my mom liked you for years!” Bellingham jokingly said this to Mourinho, who was more than happy to comply with the request.

Jude was supported at the match by mother Denise and his father Mark and brother Jobe – who plays for Championship side Sunderland.

The youngster’s family have been extremely supportive of his football journey from Birmingham City to the Bernabeu and they arrived five hours before kick-off for Saturday’s match to be part of the atmosphere.

The Bellinghams sat on their red chair in the home of English football well before the start of the match, according to images from TNT Sports.

Jude has a pre-match ritual where he ‘visualises’ himself on the pitch before games, and it appeared he did this before the start of warm-ups on Saturday.

Mourinho said before kick-off: ‘Special player, special family. To see that family, as they are there, they are not looking for cameras, they are not looking for the VIP seats, they are just there to support their child in the most humble way.

‘For me it is really beautiful. Family, we play for them, especially in these moments we play for them. To have my mother, my children, my father and my wife at the final, we are playing for them. We play for the people who love and support us.”

Speaking to TNT Sports before Madrid’s semi-final against Bayern Munich, Bellingham discussed his pre-match tradition, explaining: ‘I like to visualize the match. See the field, the grass, my playing positions… This makes me feel calmer, I know where I am going to stand on the field.

‘It’s something I’ve been doing my entire career and thanks to it I go into matches without any nerves and am prepared for anything. They taught me that from an early age and I still put it into practice.’
