Yankees fans collectively melted Sunday night when Juan Soto decided to leave the Bronx and sign a massive 15-year deal worth $765 million with the Mets.
Soto, who reached the World Series in his lone season with the Yankees last year, will move across town following his bombshell free agent decision, which according to multiple reports will come with a $75 million signing bonus.

“I already hate Soto,” another said.
A third added‘Dead to me. Traitor. I hope the 800 million was worth never sniffing a World Series again.”

According to the Jon Heyman of the New York Postthe Yankees almost matched the Mets’ offer as they bid $760 million for the player over 16 years.
However, he ultimately accepted the Mets’ historic offer, leaving fans in disbelief.

Unlike that contract – which included $680 million in deferred payments – none of Soto’s money with the Mets will be deferred.
SNYs Andy Martino said the Yankees weren’t the frontrunners for Soto until late afternoon on Sunday, making the four-time All-Star’s decision all the more painful for them.
Meanwhile, Mets fans were unsurprisingly ecstatic.
“WELCOME TO A REAL TEAM GOAT,” one said under a message from SNY Mets.
“The duo of Lindor and Soto is going insane,” another predicted.
‘LET’S F*****G GO!!’, another beamed. “Welcome, Juan.”
After a shock run to the NLCS last postseason – where they took the eventual champion Dodgers to six games – the Mets will now be considered one of the favorites in 2025 after landing Soto.
Soto hit .288 last season with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs and 129 walks, and is a career .281 postseason hitter with 11 home runs.
