Joss Stone revealed that she “definitely plans” to have more children despite experiencing a difficult delivery with her second child during which her uterus ruptured.

The 35-year-old singer underwent an emergency C-section while giving birth to her son Shackleton, her second child with partner Cody DaLuz.

The hitmaker said doctors told her she could have another child, but she couldn’t “give birth naturally.”

The couple, who are also parents to 21-month-old daughter Violet, are happy to explore other options such as adoption.

Joss said Hi! magazine: ‘I definitely want more children. The doctor has said that I can have another but I definitely can’t give birth naturally because my uterus split.

“I always wanted to adopt and Cody was adopted so he wants to adopt too. We’ll see, but I’d like to have as many children as I can.

The singer also announced that her family will be packing up and returning to the UK from Nashville.

She explained, ‘I think we’ll go home at the end of next year because I need to sort out Violet’s education. My mother says, “You have to move on.”

‘In my dreams I want us to settle in Devon close to family and put down some roots.

‘I had a lovely upbringing there and would like to give it to Violet and Shack; somewhere they can learn to ride a horse, grow vegetables and climb trees.

It comes after Joss detailed her ‘terrifying’ experience delivering her son via emergency C-section following a devastating miscarriage a year earlier.

Her time in the hospital when she gave birth to her prized bump was difficult, as she explained that she was already in “a tremendous amount of pain” before she got the news that she needed a C-section.

Speaking to People magazine, Joss said she had been “preparing” her “entire life” for a natural birth.

‘[Shackleton’s] the heartbeat was normal. And then all of a sudden it slowed down, it slowed down massively. I thought, “Oh, that’s my baby. That’s not good.”

Speaking about the nurse taking care of her, Joss said, “She comes up to me and says, ‘The room is going to get crowded. Don’t worry about it, just stay calm,'” Cody then continued. he looks at me and says the same thing.

Not long after, baby Shackleton’s heart rate ‘grew down tremendously again’.

“She was coming down the birth canal, and when my uterus ruptured, her head went into my abdomen and came back up… They had to give her her breath back.”

That’s when the doctors decided to put her to sleep, and when she woke up, her baby was born.

The singer announced in April that she was expecting another child, revealing that six months earlier she had suffered a devastating miscarriage.
