Joshua Jackson’s $2M Topanga Canyon home is latest celebrity abode destroyed in LA fire
Joshua Jackson’s $2 million home in Topanga Canyon was destroyed during the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires that started earlier this week on Tuesday.
The Doctor Odyssey actor, 46, had spent his early childhood in the house before returning to Canada at the age of eight after his parents divorced.
In 2001, the star bought the property and reflected during an interview with Mr. Porter Magazine in 2021 that it had been a place “where everything felt simple.”
However, in devastating photos taken Saturday, the home is now a pile of charred remains after it burned to the ground during the Pacific Palisades fire — which has currently destroyed 22,660 acres, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Parts of the backyard and swimming pool are still intact, while the hills surrounding where the house once stood are also bare by the flames.
Previously, green trees and shrubs had lined the driveway and the multi-storey house, while the home itself had a large wooden deck overlooking the landscape below.

A staircase led down one side of the hill to a rectangular swimming pool and solar panels.
In the new images, the area appears unaffected by the fire, with sun loungers and parasols still placed next to the pool.
The Palisades Fire alone is estimated to have destroyed approximately 5,300 structures, including homes, churches and schools.
According to the LA Times, the Eaton Fire near Altadena and Pasadena has burned 13,956 acres on Saturday. Officials have stated that 7,000 buildings were burned to the ground in that particular fire.
Since then, other infernos have emerged, such as the Kenneth Fire and Hurst Fire. On Saturday, firefighters worked to contain the Palisades fire near Brentwood.
1,680 National Guard troops have gone to Southern California to provide relief – the death toll now rises to 13.
Jackson is one of several residents and stars who have lost their properties to the deadly wildfires, including Jeff Bridges, Miles Teller, Eugene Levy, Tina Knowles and Paris Hilton.
While speaking with Mr. Porter in 2021, the Dawson’s Creek alum opened up about purchasing his former childhood home — where he had lived with his family until he was eight.

He told the outlet at the time, “My father, unfortunately, was not a good father or husband and left the scene, but in that house in Topanga everything felt simple, so it was very healing for me to do.”
Joshua and his now ex Jodie Turner-Smith had previously lived in the house together, and it was also where they raised their four-year-old daughter Juno.
The actor’s daughter had slept in his own nursery and said: ‘There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in that room that I couldn’t believe was still there years later.’
‘The owner [who sold him the house] said, “I knew it meant a lot to someone and that they would come back for it one day.”
And while you’re talking E! News in 2023, Jackson also talked about living in his former parental home – and starting his own family there.
“The most surprising thing is that it is much more homely than it looks from the outside,” the star said. “It’s very baby and family oriented in the house.”
