Joshua Jackson set for primetime television comeback as he is to star in upcoming Ryan Murphy drama

Joshua Jackson returns to primetime television for the first time in more than a decade.

The 45-year-old actor – who is in a romance with Lupita Nyong’o – has been cast in a new drama series from Ryan Murphy called Dr. Odyssey, per Variety.

Many details have yet to be revealed, but the show will be a medical procedural and will debut in the 2024-2025 season.

Ryan will join Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, with whom he has worked in the past, on the Dr. Writing Odyssey.

The trio will also serve as executive producers, as will Joshua.

In recent years, Joshua has appeared in streaming shows Little Fires Everywhere, Fatal Attraction, and Dr. Death.

He also starred in Showtime’s The Affair, but his latest project will mark the actor’s first appearance on a major network since his role on Fox’s Fringe, which ended in 2013.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the former Dawson’s Creek sensation has been cast in Sony’s latest Karate Kid.

It follows his 2015 role in the film Sky, which also starred Lena Dunham, Norman Reedus and Diane Kruger.

Jackson’s professional news comes amid his new romance with Lupita, 41.

At the beginning of the month, the two artists were spotted packing on the PDA while on vacation in Mexico.

Turner-Smith cited “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filings as she attempted to remove herself from her “unhealthy” marriage to Joshua last October.

Weeks after filing for divorce, the actor was photographed holding hands with Lupita, hours after it was confirmed they were dating.

Jodie recently spoke for the first time with the Sunday Times style magazine about why her marriage ended.

‘Sometimes things we really want just don’t work. And that’s okay. The most important thing is that you choose what is healthiest for you and your family, especially your children. There are so many different moments in our lives where we look at ourselves and say, “Who am I and am I true to that?”

‘If the answer is no, then you need to take action because I think there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don’t just affect us, they affect everyone around us. I don’t think it’s a failure. We clearly had such a beautiful moment together. And now it’s time for a new moment for both of us,” she said.
