Josh Giddey branded ‘creepy’ and slammed by DJ Akademiks as Oklahoma City Thunder player is under investigation for allegedly dating a 16-year-old girl

Josh Giddey has been branded ‘creepy’ by internet personality DJ Akademiks after serious allegations were made against the Australian star.

Shooting guard Giddey, 21, is the subject of an NBA investigation following claims he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor after photos of him with a girl – including one in which she bragged about having sex with him – recently surfaced on social media placed.

It is claimed that the girl was in high school at the time, although that claim is currently unproven.

Giddey was asked about the allegation on Saturday as he returned to the basketball court and said: “Yes, I mean, I obviously understand the question, but there is no further comment at this time.”

Photos were published on Twitter this week, one of which showed the girl who brags about having sex with Giddey, who has become one of the Thunder’s most important players since being taken with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

Podcaster DJ Akademik called the alleged behavior ‘creepy’

The photo – which shows a shirtless Giddey standing behind her – is captioned ‘just f***ed josh giddey’.

Another shows the Australian player with his arm around her body and the caption ‘he says hey’.

Popular podcaster DJ Akademiks – real name Livingston Allen – shared his thoughts on the biggest talking point in the NBA right now.

“I think if they did that, it would be pretty creepy, right,” he said, via MARCA. “Yo bro, that’s weird, like you’re a grown man fucking a 16 year old.

“I think what we need to look at is: Is it illegal? Does the NBA have any kind of moral standing to take any kind of action?”

Giddey was free to play for the Thunder against the Sixers in Oklahoma, meaning he returned to the court for the first time since the photos surfaced.

The Thunder are 11-4 after a strong start to the season, with the Giddey saga potentially threatening to derail their campaign.
