Josh Brolin reveals dad James slaughtered his childhood pet PIG and made him eat it

Josh Brolin revealed that his father James Brolin once slaughtered his childhood pig and fed it to him.

Josh, now 56, is the son of actor James, 84, and the late Jane Cameron Agee, and told the harrowing story on Graham Bensinger’s In Depth podcast – saying his dad fed him delicious ribs before revealing it indeed it was, his pet.

Josh called his dad – who is married to screen icon and noted animal lover Barbra Streisand – a ‘f*****gd**k’ for telling the story for the first time, saying: ‘So this story about me raising pigs, this is a terrible story.

‘Knor and Snort, those were their names. I helped raise these pigs, and one evening we are sitting around the table. I think it’s amazing that he wants to tell you that story. That’s why he looks so bad.”

“But he said, ‘Guess what you’re eating?’ […] Either grunting or snorting. Yes, that’s what we eat. That’s the one we slaughtered.’

Josh said he wondered why a father would say this to his child “in a celebratory way.”

‘I think he made an impression. Psychological? On camera? For you? I mean, I could get into it.

‘If you feel like you’re not having an impact, you look for any impact, whether it’s negative or not.

“I think I can break it down to the essentials because I can’t imagine saying that to my child. There’s no place in my universe to say that to a child. Why would you?

‘My father is an interesting man because he is super friendly, but there is a stop sign. It’s like there’s a red light before you get onto the highway. You’re ready to go. You’re ready to hit the highway and go 65, 75 miles an hour, and the light never comes on.

“So you’re sitting there and you say, ‘It’s presented to me that I’m going.’ And then the traffic light never changes again, it just stays red all the time.’

The revelation is doubly shocking because Brolin’s 26-year-old wife Streisand, 82, is a devoted pet owner and has even cloned her Coton de Tulear dog Samantha twice.

In 2018, Streisand was shocked when she revealed she had cloned Samantha, who died in 2017.

Before Samantha died, cells from her mouth and stomach were extracted and used in the cloning process, she told Variety in a 2018 interview.

They have different personalities,” Streisand told Variety. “I’ll wait until they get older so I can see if they have hair.” [Samantha’s] brown eyes and seriousness.’

Barbra has to dress the two dogs in red and purple to tell them apart.

While waiting for her cloned puppies, the Broadway star adopted Miss Fanny, a distant cousin of Samantha.

It will come as no surprise that cloning an animal is not cheap. The cost can range from $50,000 to $100,000.

In November, Barbra discussed the death of her beloved dog in an interview with the Associated Press.

“She was always with me,” she said. “For the past fourteen years, she went everywhere I went. She was present at every performance. It was like losing a child. It was quite terrible.’
