Jose Mourinho sent off against Manchester United as Fenerbahce boss leads appeals over penalty decision
Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands against his former club Manchester United after the Fenerbahce boss protested against a refereeing decision.
Mourinho was shown a red card by referee Clement Turpin after the hosts saw a criminal case dismissed.
Fenerbahce’s manager led the Turkish club’s protests against the decision with the score tied at 1-1 on the night.
Several Fenerbahce substitutes had joined Mourinho in demanding a penalty.
The home side had reacted furiously after seeing their calls waved away by Turpin after Bright Osayi-Samuel went down under a challenge from Manuel Ugarte.
