Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho launched into an incredible tirade after his team’s 3-2 away win at Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Mourinho appeared to be in good spirits in the 102nd minute as Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat scored a dramatic late winner for his side.
Ex-United midfielder Fred had earlier opened the scoring before two penalties from Simon Banza turned the match in the home side’s favour.
But Edin Dzeko equalized in the 75th minute before Amrabat emerged victorious, sparking wild celebrations with Mourinho attempting a knee slide only to fall flat on his face.
However, Mourinho’s joy was long gone by the time he took his seat for a post-match press conference in Trabzon.

Mourinho charged forward to celebrate a goal in the 102nd minute in his side’s 3-2 win over Trabzonspor
Mourinho later said in an incredible press conference that the Turkish Super Lig ‘smells bad’
Mourinho didn’t hold back and said boldly: ‘No one abroad wants to watch the Turkish league.
‘Who wants to watch this Turkish competition abroad? They have the Premier League, they have the French league, they have the German league, they have the Portuguese league, they have the Dutch league. Why should they see this?
‘It’s too gray. It’s too dark, it stinks. But that is my job and I will give everything for my job, for my club.’
Mourinho then hit out at the actions of Sunday’s match officials, particularly Atilla Karaoglan, who worked as VAR on the match.
After seeing his side concede two penalties, Mourinho was furious when Karaoglan failed to intervene to award Fenerbahce a penalty in the 82nd minute after the ball hit Banza’s arm in the 18-yard box.
Fenerbahce manager Mourinho was highly critical of the way Sunday’s match was managed
Mourinho said: “We were in good control and were winning 1-0 when Atilla woke up because he was probably drinking Turkish tea in the first half.
‘Not to mention an alcoholic drink, it was probably Turkish tea.
‘I don’t think many people abroad watch the Turkish league. I think in London only my son watches the Turkish league and no one else.
“I’m going to post on my Instagram. I don’t have many [followers] but I think more than five million people will see more of that punishment. Then they know what the Turkish competition is.’
Mourinho did indeed upload footage of Banza’s alleged handball and the video received more than 650,000 likes on Instagram in less than 17 hours.
Alongside multiple replays, Mourinho wrote: ‘Look and smile. If you like it, watch the game, because the funny situations don’t end with this video.’
Mourinho’s tirade at the press conference followed another during a live television interview.
Shortly after the final whistle on Sunday, Mourinho declared: ‘I blame the people of Fenerbahçe who brought me here. They only told me half the truth.
“They didn’t tell me the whole truth because if they told me the whole truth I wouldn’t come.
‘But with half the truth and my boys we fight opponents and the system.
‘The man of the match was Atilla Karaoglan. We didn’t see him, but he was the referee.
The referee was just a little boy standing on the field, but the referee was Atilla Karaoglan.”
