Jose Mourinho has been accused of creating a negative atmosphere in the Fenerbahce dressing room ahead of his side’s Europa League showdown with former club Manchester United.
Mourinho made a surprise move to become coach in Turkey over the summer after being sacked by Roma at the start of this year following a string of poor results.
He has had a mixed start to life in Turkey so far, with Fenerbahce finishing fourth in the Super Lig, eight points behind leaders Galatasaray, and unbeaten in the Europa League so far.
Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Samsunspor means the Turkish giants are still without a win in October and a Fenerbahce legend has now come out to publicly criticize Mourinho for his impact on the mood at the club.

‘Why this unhappiness? Because of the environment they are in. Why this hopelessness? We all expected something. We expected it from Mourinho, we expected it from the transfers that took place.
“We said let’s see after the international break, but at the moment nothing has changed, but obviously it will continue.
‘We waited to see if we could see a change, a variability, but that didn’t happen. We have not seen any changes to the game design of the home and away games. Or if you’re up 2-1, will Fenerbahce play in a seven-man defense? A big question mark.’
Mourinho is preparing for a reunion with Man United when his side host the Red Devils on Thursday evening.
Mourinho previously guided United to victory in the Europa League in 2017 when the Red Devils beat Ajax, Ten Hag’s former club, 2-0 in the final.

The 61-year-old later won the UEFA Conference League with Roma and previously won the Champions League twice during incredible spells in his early career with Porto and Inter Milan.
Mourinho last switched to his former side at Tottenham three years ago, losing 3-1 in what turned out to be one of his last games in charge before leaving the Premier League.
