Jorginho ‘is determined to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal’ despite Lazio showing interest in the Italy international just five months after moving from Chelsea
Jorginho is reportedly determined to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal despite interest from Lazio.
The midfielder only joined Arsenal in January when he joined unexpectedly from Chelsea, but has been linked with a return to Italy, with Napoli and AC Milan also eyeing him.
However, according to the Evening Standardthe 31-year-old has no plans to leave the Gunners.
Arsenal are set to undergo a midfield overhaul this summer as they look to sign Declan Rice from West Ham, while Thomas Partey could leave for Saudi Arabia and Granit Xhaka is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen.
Mikel Arteta’s side are also aiming to sign youngster Romeo Lavia from Southampton, but Jorginho believes he still has a role to play for Arsenal.

Jorginho has made 16 appearances for Arsenal so far and was ahead of Partey in the pecking order by the end of last season.
If Arsenal signed Rice, Jorginho probably wouldn’t be first-choice next season, but he could still get plenty of minutes, especially with the club involved in the Champions League.
The Italian still has a two-year contract with Arsenal.
Before moving to English football with Chelsea in 2018, Jorginho played in Italy for Hellas Verona and Napoli.
Arsenal have turned down two bids for West Ham captain Rice but will return with a third bid for the England international, valued at £100 million.
