Jordan Spieth helps his young son putt during an adorable moment in the Masters Par 3 tournament

A future champion? Jordan Spieth helps his 18-month-old son Sammy in a cute moment in Augusta as dad gears up for this year’s Masters

Jordan Spieth begins his search for a second green jacket on Thursday afternoon, but had time the day before to give some putting lessons to his young son.

Spieth and other golf stars took part in the Masters Par 3 tournament on Wednesday and the 2015 winner welcomed his son Sammy to the course.

With his mother (and Jordan’s wife) watching Annie, Sammy picked up the putter with the help of his father and fired from the edge of the green.

The putt narrowly missed, but the watching crowd gave a shout of ‘Oh!’ while Sammy walked to the hole.

Spieth was not the only star to bring his son, as Max Homa was also seen with his son Cam.

Sammy, who turns two in November, has been a fixture at PGA Tour events since birth, appearing at the Presidents Cup and Valspar Championship.

Spieth spoke at the Players Championship in March about how life as a professional golfer has changed with a child.

“There are times when I probably go home earlier than I should because I’m excited to go home and hang out with the little guy at home,” he said.

“But that time is more valuable than any other time I could spend on anything else, and I would prioritize that as best I can, while still trying to be the best player in the world.”

Tom Kim even said in January that he babysat Sammy while he spent Christmas with the Spieths, and called him a ‘beautiful little boy’.

Spieth kicks off at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday.
