Jordan Pickford signs a new four-and-a-half-year deal with Everton with the England number 1, pledging his future with the relegation-threatened Toffees despite interest from Tottenham.
Jordan Pickford has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Goodison Park, pledging his future with Everton and settling rumors of interest from other parties.
Pickford has signed a new contract with the Toffees, which will see him remain at the club until at least the summer of 2027.
Interest in his services was thought to be high, with Tottenham rumored to be among the interested parties as they searched for a successor between the sticks for Hugo Lloris.
Despite the club’s poor form in the past two campaigns, the England number 1 has continued to perform at a consistent level and has shown faith by never indicating that he would like to move elsewhere.
The news is sure to be a boost both to Sean Dyche, who has been impressed by the player’s attitude and application since taking over as manager last month, and to his teammates as they try to overcome a second successive slump.

The England number 1’s contract at the club expired at the end of the current season.
“It’s great to sign this new contract at such a special club for me,” said the 28-year-old. everton tv.
“The support I have received from everyone at the Club since I joined at the age of 22 has been very important to me and my family. I am happy here and so is my family. We love it at Everton.
Everton is a huge club. The last few seasons have not been what we wanted, but now we have a manager who I think will guide us in the right direction and put us on the table. Definitely my goal is to succeed at this club. The fans, staff and my teammates have been great to me from the moment I joined and I want to be great to them.
“I just want to keep working hard and delivering for Everton. We know we’re in a tough place at the moment in the league, but I’m looking forward to helping the team improve this season and then aim for future success, which will include playing in our new stadium.
“This contract will take me over 10 years at Everton and I want to build a legacy here to match up with Neville Southall to be one of the best goalkeepers to ever play for Everton.”
Pickford spoke of a desire to put himself “up there” alongside the likes of Neville Southall at the club.
The club had been keen to lock their star into a longer deal at the club, with his deal set to expire at the end of this season.
Pickford joined Everton for £30m in June 2017 and there has been fear among supporters that he could cancel his contract and become a high-profile free agent.
Interest in his services may not have died out entirely, but clubs wishing to steer him away from Goodison Park in future will surely require a much higher fee to obtain his signature.
Talks had been ongoing between the player and the Toffees, but the speed of the discussions has picked up in recent weeks.
