Republican Representative Jim Jordan said FBI whistleblowers have come forward to tell him that the agency is “deliberately manipulating” how files related to Jan. 6 are kept to fit the “political narrative” that has fueled domestic extremism in the U.S. increases
Jordan shared a letter he wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Monday, alleging that the FBI conducts business from the local field offices where the Jan. 6 suspects reside—rather than from Washington, DC, where the Capitol bombing took place. – ‘to create a false and misleading narrative that domestic violent extremism is on the rise across the country.’
“Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single black swan incident at the Capitol, FBI and DOJ officials point to a significant increase in domestic violent extremism and terrorism in the United States,” a whistleblower is quoted by Jordan in the statement. letter, obtained by Just The News.

Jordan told Wray that whistleblowers said the FBI is conducting business from the local field offices where the Jan. 6 suspects reside — rather than from Washington, D.C. (pictured), where the Capitol attack took place — to make extremism appear geographically more widespread.
Jordan, the highest-ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, also quoted whistleblowers telling him that Jan. 6 matters take precedence over others.
“For example, the whistleblower recalled being told that child sexual abuse investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies,” Jordan wrote.
“Such an attitude is not only a neglect of the FBI’s mission to investigate violations of federal laws, but it is also a serious disservice to the victims of child sexual abuse and other crimes that are pushing the FBI’s political agenda. not advancing leadership,” said the Ohio Republican. added.
He demanded that Wray, who had been appointed by former President Donald Trump, provide him with some documents before October 3.
Jordan, a top ally of Trump, has encouraged federal officials to come forward as whistleblowers since the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago last month.
‘Don’t let the Attorney General’ [Merrick] Garland calms your whistleblower rights,” he said tweeted on August 31. “You have the right to speak to Congress without interference.”
Trump and his allies have insisted that the FBI and DOJ have become politically tainted — and the investigations into Trump, including his Jan. 6 role and his handling of classified information — amount to “witch hunts,” ordered by President Joe Biden. .
Biden and the White House have said the DOJ and FBI act independently — and Biden has defended the FBI in recent speeches.
“I’m against downgrading the police,” he said. “I am also against cutting off the FBI’s funding,” he said at an event in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 30.
Biden has associated the Trump-aligned Republicans with domestic extremism.
At a fundraiser in Maryland last month, Biden said Trump and his allies were prescribing something called “semi-fascism.”
Later that night, he said he disrespected “MAGA Republicans” because “they refuse to accept the will of the people, they embrace political violence.” [and] they don’t believe in democracy.’
