First Dates Ireland star Jordan Dunbar dies aged 29 as his devastated family and friends pay tribute to ‘a wonderful talent, gone too young’

Jordan Dunbar, known for his appearances on First Dates Ireland and My Yellow Brick Road, has died at the age of 29.

The Dublin native was one of the contestants on the first series of the Irish version of the dating series and made a memorable impression on viewers.

Jordan, who has worked in various beauty salons in the Irish capital, later became part of the makeover series My Yellow Brick Road, which aired in 2019.

Jordan’s family confirmed that his funeral plans will be finalized on Thursday.

They said: He has predeceased his loving mother Sharon and his uncle Michael.

He will be sadly missed by his loving father Albert and Albert’s brother and sisters, Aunt Michelle, cousin Craig, second family Gerry, Leeanne and Maria Nolan, close friends Geena and Megan, relatives and a large circle of friends.

RTE2 also released a statement on Jordan’s passing, saying: “We are extremely saddened to learn of the death of Jordan Dunbar. Jordan appeared on First Dates Ireland and was also a presenter on the series My Yellow Brick Road.

A wonderful talent gone too young. Our deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Television production company Coco Television, which produces First Dates Ireland, said: “Our hearts are broken at the death of Jordan Dunbar, such a talented and beautiful person.

“We first met him on First Dates and he went on to host My Yellow Brick Road on RTE. It was a pleasure working with him and a privilege to know him. Deepest condolences to all who loved him.

Several Twitter users commented below this statement to pay tribute, writing: ‘I remember him from my old hairdressers, he was always a good guy to talk to. My condolences to his family.”
