Jordan Chiles shares cryptic Instagram post about ‘healing’ amid Olympic bronze medal dispute

Jordan Chiles is apparently still ‘healing’ from the bronze medal she lost on the floor exercise at the Olympics.

The American gymnast finished in third place, ahead of Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca, after USA Gymnastics appealed to increase her score, which originally placed her in fifth place.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled a few days later that the Americans’ appeal had been filed too late, declaring it invalid and returning the bronze to Barbosu.

There are currently “no plans” for Chiles to return her medal, U.S. officials said Today in the USalthough the 23-year-old is apparently still recovering from the ordeal.

On Friday night she posted a Instagram story with a screenshot of an X-post that read: ‘She’s a 10 but she’s still recovering from things she didn’t deserve.’

Chiles previously called the decision to strip her medal “unfair,” while the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee told USA Today that CAS had made “significant procedural errors.”

According to the CAS, the Americans’ appeal was clocked at one minute and four seconds, which is longer than the established time frame of one minute.

However, USA Gymnastics claims to have evidence to support their claim that the appeal was filed within the 47-second time limit.

Former Olympian Aly Raisman called the CAS ruling “confusing” and said an appeal would not even have been accepted if it had been filed too late.

“There is a designated trained officer. Their job is to keep track of the time,” she said We weekly. ‘They can’t accept the study if it’s not within that minute window. They accepted the study, which means the person who was trained to do it saw that it was under a minute.’

Raisman continued, “From that point on, the judges admitted they made a mistake with the scoring and raised the score. I think it’s really unfair. It’s unacceptable to me.”

Raisman, a three-time gold medalist, also said Chiles should not give up her medal.

β€œIt is a great disappointment to me because I feel it goes against the integrity of the sport and of the Olympic Games,” she said.

“Jordan deserves answers as to what evidence the Court of Arbitration for Sport has. It’s very confusing to me. It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think Jordan should give her medal back.”

USA Gymnastics has also said it is “devastated” by the CAS ruling and has vowed to challenge the decision by appealing to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. But it is rare for CAS decisions to be overturned.

The CAS also criticized “scandalous statements published in certain American media” due to an alleged conflict of interest regarding the panel.

After Chiles took away her medal, it was revealed that Hamid G. Gharavi, who led the panel, had worked for the Romanian government for about 10 years.

According to The New York Times, panel members are required to fill out a conflict of interest form before judging a case.

The publication said that Gharavi had revealed his work with the Romanian government. The Times also said that Gharavi refused to comment when approached.

Chiles thanked her fans for their support in previous comments on her “healing” post.

“I am overwhelmed by the love I have received over the past few days. I am also incredibly grateful to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, USAG and the USOPC for their unwavering support during this difficult time,” Chiles wrote on Instagram.

She later continued: “I am at a loss for words. This decision feels unfair and is a huge blow, not just to me, but to everyone who has supported my journey.”
