Joondalup death: James Sheehy’s family break silence after he was allegedly stabbed to death by his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Vivian Brown at their home near Perth

A grieving family is mourning the loss of a second son, who was allegedly murdered by his pregnant girlfriend who he cared for ‘endlessly’.

James Sheehy, 31, was reportedly stabbed to death at his home in Joondalup, north of Perth, on Thursday evening.

His girlfriend, Lauren Vivian Brown, 27, has been charged with murder and remains behind bars after appearing in court on Saturday.

Alex Sheehy said the death of his older brother has rocked his entire family after previously losing another sibling to suicide.

My dad called me at two in the morning and told me James was dead,” Alex told The West Australian.

“We (James and I) were pretty close… we already lost a brother to suicide …now I have no brothers.’

He added that his brother cared for his girlfriend “endlessly.”

“(James) just wanted love, man, he just wanted a woman to love him,” Alex said.

“He picked Mrs. Brown off the street, took care of her and did the right thing.”

He added that his brother was a rugger who loved his job and had previously worked at crane rental company Freo Group.

Karratha contractor GCS Contracting and property company Lendlease are also listed on his LinkedIn as previous employers.

Family friend Paul Maudsley said James was the ‘lThe first person anyone would think something like this would happen.”

“He didn’t have an angry bone in his body, he was kind to everyone,” he told the publication.

“Everyone loved him.”

Brown burst into tears when she appeared in court for the alleged domestic violence incident.

She heard the murder charge read in court, which she acknowledged.

No application for bail was made on her behalf as Brown was formally refused bail.

Brown announced on Facebook on July 7 that she was ‘in a relationship’, with Mr Sheehy liking the post.

Her Facebook was full of selfies, modeling photos and inspiring quotes.

She lists several jobs, including a hostess at popular karaoke venue Hit Studio Karaoke in Northbridge and a model at Kandy Promotions, which offers promotional staff and grid girls and models for hire.

Police allege the couple had had an argument prior to Mr Sheehy’s encounter stabbed in their Plaistow Street apartment at 9 p.m.

Paramedics from St John Ambulance attempted to save Mr Sheehy but he died at the scene.

Shocked neighbor Shane Dinsdale heard a loud scream from a woman in the apartment around 9pm on Thursday.

“Initially, when I heard a few little shouts, I thought, ‘This is annoying,’ but by the end it was quite full,” Mr Dinsdale said.

‘I didn’t hear any man shouting. I just stuck my head out, but there were police and ambulances, so I probably figured it out.”

Another neighbor who lives next to the apartment, Richard King, said he heard a woman screaming for help.

Brown will appear in the High Court via video link on October 25.
