Jonnie Irwin has given fans a health update amid his terminal battle with cancer as he revealed he has started hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

The TV presenter, 49, said on Instagram on Friday that he had been loaned a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and shared photos of it set up in his home.

Jonnie, that meHe’s battling a terminal lung cancer which has since spread to his brain after being diagnosed in 2020, told fans how the therapy (HBOT) has helped him.

HBOT involves breathing 100 percent pure oxygen into a pressurized hyperbaric chamber, where the increased air pressure helps the lungs collect more oxygen.

To give insight into the process, Jonnie shared selfies of himself sitting in the room on his ‘comfy chair’ while wearing his special mask.

He talked about how he looks forward to his HBOT sessions and mentioned that he watches Netflix or catches up on work while he’s in the room.

Jonnie wrote alongside his post: ‘I can’t tell you how happy I am with the hyperbaric oxygen chamber lent to me by @o2worx.

‘It’s great for people with my condition, but also for injury recovery and general wellbeing. I’m not going to preach, but if you’re interested, google it, you’ll be surprised!

‘This room is perfect for me, no feelings of claustrophobia and it’s just big enough to fit my favorite comfy chair in!

‘I really look forward to each session knowing it will do me good whilst allowing me to get some work done (watching Netflix shhh!) I’m in it at the moment!’

His post comes days after he paid a touching tribute to his wife Jessica Holmes as they went out for dinner to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary.

Jonnie shared on his Instagram on Sunday a photo of him and his wife, 40, enjoying a crème brûlée at Mediterranean restaurant Lovage Desmond.

Jonnie looked relaxed in a white jumper, while Jessica looked effortlessly stylish in a black button-up shirt as they indulged in a glass of fizz.
