Jonnie Irwin confirms his return to TV amid terminal cancer battle – as elated fans say he is ‘back where he belongs’
Johnny Irvin confirmed his return to TV screens on Tuesday amid his ongoing battle with terminal cancer.
The presenter, 49, revealed in November that his cancer had spread from his lungs to his brain after he was initially diagnosed in 2020.
The A Place In The Sun star has remained positive throughout the difficult journey, regularly updating her fans on her condition.
And it was good news on Tuesday when he revealed he was returning to British TV to film a home renovation program for BBC Morning Live in Newcastle.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, he wrote: “So good to be back filming for @bbcmorninglive.

“We’ve just been making short films about renovating your home and what to look out for. I think my smug smile betrays the lack of mass commuting for once and the extra few hours I got in my scratcher while we were filming in Newcastle upon Tyne.
“I’ll let you know when they’re due out, when I get to know each other.”
Fans were delighted with the news and commented that Johnny looked a lot more like himself.

Earlier this month, Johnny celebrated his seventh wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Jessica Holmes.
The couple have been married since October 2016 and have three sons, Rex, four, and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

Last Friday, Johnny announced on Instagram that he had started hyperbaric oxygen therapy at home.
HBOT involves breathing 100 percent pure oxygen inside a pressurized hyperbaric chamber, where the increased air pressure helps the lungs to collect more oxygen.
Giving an insight into the process, Johnny shared selfies of himself sitting in the chamber on his “comfortable chair” while wearing his specialized mask.
He shared how he looks forward to his HBOT sessions and shared that he watches Netflix or catches up on work while in the chamber.
