Jonathan Majors begged ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari not to get help after incident where she suffered head injury because he was worried it would ‘lead to an investigation’, court hears

Jonathan Majors begged his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari not to seek medical help after an incident that left her with a head injury last year, a New York court heard.

The actor, 34, warned Jabbari that she had “no perspective on what could happen” if the truth came to light, according to previously secret text messages read Friday on the fifth day of Majors' criminal trial.

“They will ask you questions, and because I don't think you're really protecting us, even if you lie and they suspect something, it could lead to an investigation,” Majors wrote to his then-girlfriend on September 22, 2022.

Jabbari responded that she would tell the doctors she hit her head, and assured Majors, “Why would I tell them what really happened when it's obvious I want to be with you?”

Additional information about how she suffered the injuries during the September altercation, which took place in London, was not discussed in court.

Majors, a rising Hollywood star, is fighting to save his reputation after his arrest for allegedly assaulting Jabbari in a separate incident months later in New York City.

He attended his criminal trial with current girlfriend-actress Meagan Good by his side.

Jabbari has accused Majors of punching her on the side of the head and squeezing her hand until her middle finger broke during a dispute that began after she read a romantic text on his phone sent by another woman.

Prosecutors have said Majors displayed a “cruel and manipulative pattern” of abuse, culminating in the backseat confrontation.

The six-member jury was instructed to consider the messages as “background” when considering the assault and harassment charges arising from Major's alleged attack on Jabbari in the backseat of a car on March 25.

The major's lawyers claim Jabbari was the instigator of the fight.

On Wednesday, Jabbari, a 30-year-old British choreographer, wept on the stand as lawyers played police bodycam footage during her third day of testimony in the assault trial.

During cross-examination, defense attorney Priya Chaudhry played grainy security footage from a Manhattan nightclub in an attempt to cast doubt on the accuser's claim that she suffered excruciating pain and injuries after an alleged attack by the actor last spring.

Chaudhry has suggested that Jabbari would not have gone to the club if she was as injured as she claimed, at points suggesting the accuser might have injured herself while intoxicated later in the evening.

Before the start of the trial, the lawyer distributed video footage of Jabbari in the nightclub to the press, claiming it provided “irrefutable” evidence that the case against Majors was a “witch hunt.”

Jabbari testified about the “substantial” pain she suffered after the actor allegedly attacked her in the backseat of a taxi this spring, when photos of the woman's injuries were shared with a Manhattan jury for the first time.

The arrest has upended Majors' soaring career, calling into question his future as the kingpin of the Marvel multiverse.

Majors was previously set to reprise his role as supervillain Kang the Conqueror in two upcoming Avengers films.

The release of “Magazine Dreams,” in which Majors received critical acclaim for his role as an aspiring bodybuilder, was also postponed until its scheduled opening this week.
