Jonah Hill clashes with Eddie Murphy as he attempts to marry his daughter in Netflix’s new comedy

Jonah Hill desperately tries to woo his fiancée’s parents (Eddie Murphy and Nia Long), after an awkward first impression, in the new Netflix comedy You People.

After fatefully meeting his significant other (Lauren London) by mistakenly getting into her car instead of an Uber, 39-year-old character Ezra Cohen embarks on a whirlwind romance after years of trying to find his soul mate.

In the early days of their romance, he tells his friends that he had “never felt so understood” in “his entire life.”

After meeting Murphy, who plays his girlfriend’s disapproving father, Hill tells London that his father “hates him.”

‘Can you honestly say that your family is excited to have my black butt in the photo?’ she asks.

When he comes to meet his mom and dad, Hill’s mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is apparently delighted to meet her son’s new girlfriend, calling her “beautiful.”

They go on to mention her race while telling her that they like her braids and stating that they feel like the police are ‘fucking with blacks’.

Hill looks embarrassed and closes his eyes and holds his breath to try to relax.

The film, which Jonah co-wrote with the director, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, will premiere directly on Netflix on January 27.

Jonah and Eddie’s families “find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences,” according to the official synopsis.

The film also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny as Jonah’s progressive Jewish parents.

You People also features guest appearances from Rhea Perlman, Bryan Greenberg, Andrea Savage, and La La Anthony, among others.

In an earlier trailer, released last month, Hill’s character makes a horrible first impression during her meeting at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles with Murphy and Hill, 38.

‘Nice to meet you guys! What’s going on? Talk to me about life. As they are? How is your job going? he says to her in a manic outburst as Eddie and Nia look at him.

‘So, do you want to marry my daughter?’ Eddie asks, dropping the jokes.

‘So do you hang out in the neighborhood all the time, or do you just come here for our food and wife?’ he asks more confrontationally, while Nia adds, “That’s a valid question.”

Jonah closes his eyes and slowly answers, “It is.”

But things get even worse from there when the suitor begins to weigh in on what his possible son with Eddie’s daughter could be like.

‘If Amir and I had a baby, it would be a very nice baby. Mixed-race people are amazing,’ she cluelessly says, before offering up Mariah Carey, Derek Jeter and ‘the GOAT’.

After Eddie asks who he’s referring to, Jonah clarifies, “Our man, the legend: Malcolm X.”

The former Saturday Night Live star clutches his chest in anguish when Jonah mentions sex with his daughter.

“She’s not pregnant, because we don’t even do that many…things,” he continues nervously.

“She’s not a prude, she knows how to avoid it,” she clarifies, recklessly.
