Jon Stewart exposes myth about Kamala’s epic election flop and brands her campaign as ‘Cheney family reunion’
Jon Stewart questioned the liberal analysis of Kamala Harris’ election loss to Donald Trump, claiming the party “didn’t run on ‘woke s***’ but allowed Republicans to define them that way.”
It was The Daily Show host’s first appearance since Election Night, long after the rest of his late-night brethren had panicked or dismissed the Democrats’ strategy.
Stewart continued to attack the forecasters in a fourteen-minute monologue, but eventually went after anyone who tried to figure out what happened, especially several commentators who had said Democrats were too woke.
“I only have one problem with the woke theory…I couldn’t remember seeing Democrats running on woke s**t,” the comic said, after playing clips from CNN, Fox News and MSNBC commentators theorizing why Harris lost. .
He then ran a wide variety of Democratic campaign commercials, with candidates from Sherrod Brown to Jon Tester to Pat Ryan claiming they would secure the border to talk about how they opposed defunding the police.

Stewart blasted Democrats, including Harris, for being “just like Republicans for the last four months.”
Stewart seemed furious, slamming his script on his desk several times and exclaiming, “That’s the Democrats!”
He mimicked the commercials and joked, “I gave the police more money than they wanted!” I gave them planes and tanks! I built a moat around the land and filled it with alligators and chlamydia.”
“They didn’t talk about pronouns, they didn’t say Latinx, it was the opposite,” he added, before playing more Democratic campaign messages with conservative messages.
Some of them delved into issues like transgender sports and gender transitions in general, while others professed anti-Chinese beliefs and proudly proclaimed gun ownership.
He even turned to Harris and punched her because she claimed she owns a Glock and would shoot any intruders.
“They didn’t do the waking thing. They’ve been acting like Republicans for the past four months. They wore camouflage hats and went to Cheney family reunions,” he said, citing support from Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney and his father and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
He said Democrats refused to define themselves and were stuck with what Republicans projected onto them.
“Democrats were largely opposed to an identity defined for them based on a few months of George Floyd/defund the police/#MeToo Instagram posts from four years ago,” he said.

Ultimately, Stewart said, there was a very clear reason why Harris and the Democrats were defeated.
“What happened was that the country felt like the government wasn’t working for them, and Democrats in particular were taking their hard-earned money from people who didn’t deserve it as much as they did. And so the Democrats took a hit.”
He had a message of hope for the party, pointing out how badly they had been defeated by Ronald Reagan in 1984, before their comeback in the early 1990s with Bill Clinton.
While not every late night show had a specifically political slant after the election, almost all of the left-wing talkers talked about Trump’s victory in a depressing manner.
Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers gave pep talks to his solidly Democratic, Trump-hating audience, while Jimmy Kimmel spoke to the liberal podcast Pod Save America and Jimmy Fallon discussed the results and sang a hopeful song with The View’s Whoopi Goldberg.
Meyers gave his typical 16-minute comedic recap of the show and The Daily Show went all-in on the politics as usual.
The shows also played taped segments, with Fallon satirizing fast-talking cable news hosts and Kimmel mocking Americans who were Googling basic election facts on Election Day.
The exception was Bill Maher, who criticized the Democratic Party, claiming it is full of “brats” who need to “look in the mirror” after losing the election to Donald Trump.

Maher’s roundup was a spirited response from both parties, a sharp contrast to many of the late-night Liberal anchors losing their minds during the election earlier this week.
The comedian, who predicted that Kamala Harris would win the election and has long been attacking the Republican Party in his HBO show, had harsh words for his own side in his monologue on Friday evening.
‘My message to the losers: losers look in the mirror! For months, Democrats have been asking: How does this even get close? And they’re right, that wasn’t the case,” he said, noting that Trump walked away quite easily.
He destroyed a Democratic Party that has become representative of college-educated elites and identity politics: “You’re snobs, and you’re snobs, and people don’t like that.”
