JoJo Siwa says there’s little chance she’ll ever speak to Candace Cameron Bure again after her controversial comments about “traditional marriage.”

‘We do not have [talked]and I don’t think we’ll ever do that again,” said 19-year-old Siwa People.

“That’s what’s going on,” she continued. “You don’t like gay marriage, do your thing girl. You’re religious, do your thing girl. Of course I would like everyone to do what they want to do. But to deliberately exclude someone because of who they love, that’s stupid.’

Siwa suggested that Bure reach out to GLAAD president and CEO Kate Ellis to patch things up. Ellis previously made an offer to talk to the actress “about my wife, our children and our family’s traditions” in a statement responding to the controversy.

“That’s what I wish Candace would do,” Siwa said. “I’d like her to have a conversation with GLAAD. Because even though I’m educated, GLAAD is such an incredible organization. Sarah is a genius when it comes to the gay community. And I think talking to Candace would not only be an eye-opener for Candace, but an eye-opener for a whole world of people who might hold the same beliefs.”

Last week, Bure came under fire after revealing in a Wall Street Journal interview that she expected her new Christian TV network not to feature gay couples in leading roles.

Siwa’s beef with Bure, 46, goes beyond the comments – over the summer, the dancer, who came out last year as part of the LGBTQ community, called the Full House actress the “rude celebrity” she’d ever met .

While speaking to cameras last week, JoJo proudly revealed that she was “inspired by what’s going on” when picking out her outfit. The rainbow became the symbol of the gay rights movement in 1978.

“Here’s the point, it’s not like every movie has to have an LGBTQIA representation or love story, it doesn’t. But to say publicly that you want to bring the Great American Christmas back to straight marriage. It’s just a little wrong,” she said.

JoJo admitted that she struggled to give her the benefit of the doubt as she labeled the comments “rude” to an “entire community of people.”

“It’s no secret a few months ago I said she was the rudest celebrity to me but what she did now was really rude to me but to a whole community of people and a whole family of people and honestly I’ve been trying all day today to find a way to give her a little bit of, “Well, maybe it was for this purpose, maybe for this purpose,” but honestly it’s just screwed up. It’s just kind of fucked up.’

When it was noted that the Christian faith was all about love, JoJo agreed, but added kindness was key.

“You can have your beliefs and you can have what you want to believe in, but you can also be nice to each other.”

JoJo could barely contain her laughter as she addressed Bure’s comments on her Instagram Stories.

The reality star insisted she was “ashamed” of the Full House vet.

Her article, I’m really laughing at it, it says, “I think the Great American Family or whatever her movie is, will keep traditional marriage at its center.” It’s just embarrassing! I’m just ashamed, just like I was for her,’ she said with a laugh.

She added, “It’s just hilarious to me, that someone, I mean it’s a Candace quote, but someone said, ‘Yeah! Yeah, that’s a great idea!’ Meanwhile I’m standing here like a walking Pride flag, I’ve got my socks!’

JoJo already had a hit with Candace earlier that day, posting on her Instagram Stories, “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that happened a few months ago that she wouldn’t just make a movie with the intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Candace expected that the new TV network she works for – Great American Family – would not feature gay couples in starring roles, unlike the Hallmark Channel.

“I think Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the center,” she told the WSJ.

Bure announced in April that she was leaving the Hallmark Channel, two years after the network released its first LGBTQ holiday movie starring a gay lead couple.

Backlash came from all corners of the internet, with celebrities and the Twitterverse slamming Bure for the comments.

Hallmark released his first movie starring a prominent gay couple, The Christmas House, in 2020. They will release their first Christmas movie this year starring a leading gay couple, The Holiday Sitter.

Bure has since responded to criticism for her statements that her new television house Great American Family would not feature gay couples in leading roles.

In a lengthy statement provided to People on Wednesday, Bure defended himself and the network, saying the backlash from stars like JoJo and Hilarie Burton “breaks my heart.”

While Bure, 46, claimed that people of “all ethnicities and identities” could “contribute to the network” both on screen and behind the camera, she seemed to avoid the issue of Great American Family’s apparent ban on gay protagonists . while claiming the backlash was caused by the “media,” rather than the stars who challenged her previous statements about the network to the WSJ.

JoJo’s issues with Candace are personal.

In late July, the star shared a video calling the Full House star the “rudest celebrity I’ve met,” which unexpectedly went viral. Each of them would share their side of the story before Bure DM’d her to address the situation, putting the actress at ease about where they stood.

Speak with E! News in October, JoJo said she had “moved on” from the feud.

‘I will be honest. I haven’t spoken to her at all since the whole thing [went down]. I think she’s alive and thriving. I think I’m alive and thriving.’

When asked to explain if things were okay between the two, Siwa (née Joelle Joanie Siwa) laughed and put an end to the controversy: “We’re… civil? I don’t know. I’ve had three issues since then that one so we move on.’

JoJo came out as part of the LGBTQ community last year, and shortly after said she was “technically” pansexual.

“I like queer,” she said People last year. “Technically I’d say I’m pansexual because that’s how I’ve always been, my whole life is like, my human is my human.”
