Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose reveals the downsides of fame ahead of the release of her new film Nosferatu

Lily-Rose Depp has revealed why she doesn’t want to be part of the Hollywood scene as she discussed the downsides of fame.

The French-American actress, 25, shared Entertainment Network on Sundays she wants to maintain privacy in her life.

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis explained that every job has its own “circumstances” and that fame is the downside of acting.

“People are interested in things that they shouldn’t necessarily be interested in,” she began.

“And the job of an actor is to get into a character, melt into it, and make the audience believe that this character is you.”

‘To be able to do that it is important to protect a sense of anonymity. They’re not supposed to get to know ‘you’ so well because you want them to believe you as other characters.”

It comes as Lily-Rose’s new film Nosferatu is released in Australia on New Year’s Day.

Nosferatu – which has already received critical acclaim – is a haunting remake of the 1922 silent classic, which was loosely based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

In this new version, Bill Skarsgard takes on the role of the bloodthirsty Count Orlok, with Lily-Rose playing Ellen Hutter, the object of his sinister obsession.

In addition to Depp and Skarsgard, Nosferatu features a talented cast including Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter, Ellen’s husband, and Willem Dafoe as Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, a vampire hunter.

The film also stars Emma Corrin as Anna Harding, the wife of Thomas’ friend Friedrich, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Early reviews are already enthusiastic, calling the film ‘hypnotic’, ‘diabolical’ and ‘the scariest movie since The Shining’, as the film achieved a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Every aspect of the project is receiving rave reviews, but it’s Johnny Depp’s daughter who really steals the spotlight with her performance.

“The film belongs to Lily-Rose Depp, whose performance is a revelation,” declared The Hollywood Reporter, as Collider called it “one of the best performances of the year.”

“Her scenes with Bill Skarsgard are electrifying,” THR’s David Rooney continued. Depp gives Ellen’s delirium a tragic gravity, which deepens once she recognizes the mystical forces within her that have fueled the vampire’s obsession.

“She can go from weak and vulnerable to demonic in an instant, and the stylized physicality of her attacks is breathtaking.”

Fans agreed in one post: “Skarsgard is transformative and Depp is a revelation. One of the best of 2024!”

“NOSFERATU is the most horrifyingly beautiful movie I’ve seen this year,” said another.
