Johnny Depp can smile again.
The 61-year-old Oscar-nominated actor appears to have undergone major dental surgery, according to a new video circulating on Instagram, which shows his recent visit to a bar in the Bahamas.
In a clip uploaded to Instagram on Thursday, Depp, a bartender who goes by Rap Rap Zoilo (who goes by the handle @killerbartender), was seen smiling and sporting much healthier teeth than in previous appearances, drawing the attention of fans.
In the clip, Rap Rap Zoilo recounts a friendly conversation he had with the actor at Lorraine’s Cafe in the Exuma district of the Bahamas.
The bartender captioned the post, “Jacksparrow meets the killer bartender from Exuma, Bahamas…one of a kind moments with Mr. Johnny Depp.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor in the clip thanked a painting of his character Captain Jack Sparrow, greeted people in the establishment and stepped behind the bar to mix a drink with the bartender.
In the adjacent comments section of one of the posts, fans of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor complimented his rejuvenated appearance following the dental treatment he reportedly underwent.
‘He looks so happy! And healthy and LOOK he got his teeth fixed!!!!!’ said one fan.
Another said: ‘Now no one can say anything bad about @johnnydepp’s teeth… he has a beautiful mouth and a very healthy appearance.’

Depp first spoke about his dental health nearly 30 years ago, telling Premiere magazine in 1995 that at age 31, he had “a lot of cavities.”
“Eight years ago I had a root canal that wasn’t finished. It’s like a rotten stump,” he said at the time. “When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me crazy. I’d rather swallow a tick than that!”
The report at the time noted that Depp had a penchant for smoking cigarettes and drinking merlot wine, which could affect the appearance of his teeth.
