Johnny Depp dressed to impress in a pinstripe suit to attend the Madame Figaro x Christian Dior dinner at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday.
The 59-year-old Pirates Of The Caribbean actor was moved to tears the night before after his period piece, Jeanne du Barry, received a seven-minute standing ovation on the opening night of the annual event.
The star is no stranger to the world of Dior and recently signed a three-year, $20 million deal to remain the face of Dior Sauvage, a fragrance for which he has been the spokesperson since 2015.
At dinner, the father-of-two, who openly expressed whether he felt “boycotted” by Hollywood, was smartly dressed in a gray striped suit and a matching cardigan that was fully buttoned up.
He pulled on a black shirt and a pair of tight black lace-up shoes.

The actor donned a black fedora hat that partially covered his locks that naturally fell down to brush his shoulders.
Johnny added an assortment of silver rings to each of his hands, as well as a dangling silver earring in his left ear. As a finishing touch, the star added a few blue translucent shades.
Shortly before attending the annual Madame Figaro x Christian Dior dinner in Cannes, Depp revealed at a press conference for his film Jeanne du Barry whether he felt “boycotted” by Hollywood.
“I don’t feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don’t think about Hollywood,” he admitted Variety. “I don’t feel much need for Hollywood myself.”
“It’s a strange, funny time where everyone would like to be themselves, but you can’t. They have to fall in line with the person in front of them. If you want to live that life, I wish you well.’
The Oscar nominee then discussed his feelings about being asked to “resign” from a movie. He was previously asked to step down from the Fantastic Beast franchise in 2020.
Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood? You shouldn’t have a heartbeat to feel, “No. None of this is happening. It’s a funny joke,” the actor explained.
He further stated at the conference, “If you’re asked to resign from a movie you’re making because of something that’s just a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes, you feel boycotted.”

Depp also hit back at people who questioned whether Cannes should have given him such a prominent platform.
“What if one day they didn’t allow me to go to McDonald’s for life because there were 39 angry people somewhere watching me eat a Big Mac on a loop?” he asked. ‘Who are they? What do they care?’
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star went on to discuss why he doesn’t think he’s had a ‘comeback’, insisting he wasn’t going anywhere.
“I apparently had my 17th comeback,” he said. “I keep wondering what the word “comeback” is. I haven’t gone anywhere. In fact I live about 45 minutes away. Maybe people stopped calling out whatever their fear was at the time. But I didn’t go anywhere.”
On Tuesday, Johnny had cause for celebration when his movie, Jeanne du Barry, officially premiered on the opening night of the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
The project was his first starring role in three years and following his high-profile defamation trial with ex-wife, Amber Heard, which took place last year.
Playing the role of King Louis XV, the star joined other cast members such as Benjamin Lavernhe and Maïwenn, who also directed the nearly two-hour film.

In remarks to the press Monday, Cannes director Thierry Fremaux defended the decision to allow Depp to participate in the festival, saying Depp is extraordinary in the film and he paid no attention to the process.
“If Johnny Depp wasn’t allowed to star in a movie, or if the movie was banned, we wouldn’t be talking about this.”
